How to use the Storylines Uploader app (download here) to import your media files.

Prerequisite: macOS Catalina or more recent OS

If you are importing clips (anything except multicams) from Final Cut Pro:

Use Storylines share destination for FCP.
install Storylines Share Destination for FCP from the Storylines Uploader menu


In FCP, choose the clip you want to send to Storylines and click "Export" and choose "Storylines Uploader"

If you want to import multicams:

just drag the multicam clips from FCP to the Storylines Uploader app.

If you want to import audio/video files that are in Finder:

just drag them from Finder to the Storylines Uploader app.
Note: when you use this method, metadata is NOT preserved as the macOS transcoder doesn't read/pass on framerate and start timecode info. You will need to set this info manually in Storylines website (once your media imports). You can find the timecode/FPS box by opening the relevant project and clicking the clock icon at the top right of the toolbar:
